Anna is a midwife and the co-owner of @jordemodertid. She is one of the experts who have shared their knowledge and feedback throughout the development of the Caramma Support Bottle. Anna shares a few words about why she finds the Support Bottle relevant for families and the different ways they choose to feed their babies.
Q: Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you do?
Anna: Absolutely. My name is Anna, and I’m a midwife. We are now in my private practice here in Copenhagen, which I share with my business partner, Anne. We work closely with families during pregnancy, around birth and in the first months with a new baby.
Q: What do you think of the Caramma Support Bottle?
Anna: I’m really excited about the Caramma Support Bottle. It is inspired by the female breast, which is such a thoughtful and fascinating design. I find it incredibly inspiring that this technology looks at how babies naturally feed and brings those principles into a bottle.
Some of the best ideas are often the simplest - solutions that have been in front of us all along. The Caramma Support Bottle is a great example of looking at the traditional bottle from a different perspective. I find it exciting to see how it can help bring bottle feeding and breastfeeding closer together, particularly by allowing close contact between parent and baby and creating a natural feeding rhythm.
I can’t wait to introduce it to the families we work with and see how they experience it.
Q: Where in your professional work would you find this bottle useful?
Anna: We meet many families who are finding their own way with breastfeeding and bottle feeding, both here and in their homes. Every family has different circumstances and preferences. Some choose to breastfeed, others use a bottle, and many combine the two for different reasons.
Life also changes along the way. Parents return to work, partners want to take a more active role in feeding, and families find their own routines. Having different options can make it easier to adapt feeding to everyday family life.
The Caramma Support Bottle is particularly interesting to me because it is not about replacing breastfeeding. It offers another option for families who want to combine breastfeeding and bottle feeding, while keeping closeness and connection at the centre.
Q: How has it been to be a part of this project since the beginning?
Anna: Of course, I find it incredibly rewarding to have collaborated with these inspiring women. I’ve been a midwife for almost a decade, and one of the things I care most about in my work is sharing useful knowledge and finding good solutions for the families I work with. Being part of the development of Caramma and being able to contribute my experience has been really special.
