Anna is a midwife and the co-owner of @jordemodertid. She is one of the health experts who have shared their knowledge and given their feedback in the process of developing the caramma Support Bottle. Anna shares a few words on the relevance of the Support Bottle in helping families navigate feeding.
Q: Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you do?
Anna: Absolutely. My name is Anna, and I’m a midwife. We are now in my private clinic here in Copenhagen, which I share with my business partner, Anne. We offer a range of services, including pregnancy scans, antenatal classes, treatments, and breastfeeding assistance.
Q: What do you think of the caramma Support Bottle?
Anna: Well, I'm super excited about the caramma support bottle. It mimics the female breast, which is such a brilliant and evolutionary design. I find it incredibly inspiring that this technology strives to replicate the natural breast as closely as possible.
Some of the best ideas are often the simplest—solutions that have been in front of us all along. This is a great example of addressing issues with traditional bottle designs. It’s exciting to see how this can help bridge the gap between bottle feeding and breastfeeding, particularly in fostering close contact between parent and baby and maintaining a natural milk flow.
I can’t wait to introduce it to our clients and incorporate it into our work, supporting both breastfeeding and bottle-feeding families.
Q: Where in your professional work would you find this bottle a useful solution?
Anna: We see a strong need for this during our breastfeeding consultations, whether here in the clinic or in people’s homes. Many families face challenges with breastfeeding or want to incorporate formula for various reasons, such as returning to work or overcoming breastfeeding difficulties.
On a broader scale, there are societal changes as well. For example, in Denmark, we’re seeing women returning to work earlier, which creates a greater demand for reliable bottle solutions that align with the needs of both the baby and the family.
The caramma Support Bottle is particularly relevant because it’s not about replacing breastfeeding but about providing a complementary solution when needed. It’s a tool to support families, ensuring they feel equipped and empowered in their choices.
Q: How has it been to be a part of this project since the beginning?
Anna: Well, of course, I find it super humbling to have collaborated with these super inspiring women. I've been a midwife for almost a decade. This is my biggest interest in my work – to create good knowledge and good solutions for the families that I work with. That has been epic.
